Default Time for a new clutch, what should I buy?

Like the title says, I need a new clutch bad. What should I get for a clutch? Let me hear it, the good, the bad, and the ugly. I am planning on spending around $1k, and I would like my money to go a little further than several thousand miles or a year or two. Thanks in advance.

Everybody is gonna say Textralia, which is around $900-$1000 shipped, I believe.

A new choice is the LS7 clutch/pressure plate but can only be used with an LS2 flywheel. Price is around $510 shipped for both from Fred Beans Chevrolet.

Does that $510 include the LS2 flywheel or just the LS7 clutch/pressure place?

Thanks guys. Will the ls7clutch/pp and ls2 flywheel bolt up with out any doing any modifications or will I have to do some mods for it to work? I really like the sound of spending $500+ and getting good performance instead of a $1000.

Id say go with ram powergrip, and an aluminum flywheel. Hell, get a new slave while your at it, that will still cost you about 750 bucks for all that shipped. I just put my powergrip in, and jeezus does that thing GRIP I barked 2nd and 3rd for the first time in 6 months, keep in mind im riding on 315's BFG's in the rear

Nope, LS7 clutch/PP and LS2 flywheel is direct for LS1/LS6. It's been done on an 04 GTO and a 370rwhp SS, too, that I've seen so far.
