6.0 litre LS-2 into 01' 1500 pick-up looking for some reasurance here, Have a 6.0 400 hp going into 2001 -1500 w/4l-60 ,headers , short gears , big tires etc. 5.3 coming out . pretty much a bolt in , cam sensor front / back. was told I need vin. # for 6.0 pick-up to get computer re-prog. and quit looking for a few thing , cats, evap. etc. (fuel-cell) suggestions ? comments? advice? all appreciated

Why not just retune the computer "as needed" with this engine. A good tuner should be able to map your 5.3 program just as easily as remapping a 6L computer. An OEM 6L program won't do much good, imho.
