Default auto-lights?

i had no clue wat section to put this question under so i came here...my lights usually go on automatically if its dark out, but now they dont. i noticed this ever since i plugged my radar detector in for the first time...what happened?

Well I know the sensor for the auto lights is right under the vent in the top of the dash, next to the blinking red light. I don't know if it is somehow connected to the power source that you plugged your radar detector into....something might have shorted it out?? Or if your radar detector is mounted right above it on the windshield maybe that's interfering with it somehow. Either way the auto-lights function is something I disabled long ago.

Yeah, most people disable it. If the switch still works the lights, I don't see a problem.

a little off subject... when i read this i was thinking "who the hell has auto-lights on a firebird" then relized it was a camero he was talking about, haha but i think it would be helarious to see some idiot with auto-lights on a bird, it would look like it was blinking everytime they went under a bridge

I've heard all the Canadian models have it.

The 98-02 Canadian Firebirds did come with auto-lights.
Maybe your's doesnt have it or maybe it was an option.

Yeah I would like to know how to turn the AUTO HEADLIGHTS OFF I hate them. Someone told me that I needed to take the dash off and cut the wire. Is that true or is there a better way around it. PLEASE them me there is a way.
