Corvette fuel rail covers on Camaro LS1 I'm looking at making my LS1 look cleaner inside the Rx7's engine bay. I'm thinking of repainting a set of corvette fuel rail covers and adding the appropriate mazda or whatever badging.
But obviously, the first question would be: Do corvette fuel rail covers fit onto the camaro LS1? It's a 2002, if that changes anything.

They do, but you need to cut them. Check over in the appearance forum as they're really big over there. Lots of places sell them pre-cut, filled, and painted. Afterthoughtsauto.com (sponsor) is one of them, but they're really damn expensive. Lots of guys make them theirselves, but it's time consuming.

I'm pretty sure it'd still apply, since the motor is still the LS1 from a camaro. I'm going to buy a cheap set of used FRCs off ebay to see what I'll have to cut.
From what I've learned, to put Corvette FRCs on the Camaro LS1, I'll need the 98 FRCs. Can anybody confirm this?
Also, dremeling and custom modifying stuff isn't really a problem. I'm still working on stuffing Hella 90mm HIDs into the rx7's popup housings

Two things.
First: Can a mod move this to the appearance section? I definitely made it in the wrong section, sorry.
Second: Would I need to make the entire thing using high temp paints? Or could I get away with just regular paints and applying heat reflective tape to the bottom?
If I need high temp paints, who makes primers, metallic black, and clear coats of the high temp variety?

Don't worry, it's not because I'm embarrassed to have a chevy in my mazda.
I'll probably just stick Rx-7 badges on the top to make it go with the whole...rx7 theme. You know, with the rx-7 chassis and all.

I've heard that they are not the best for performance. They trap the heat under them and it effects the coils... Just what I have heard. I wanted to get a set myself, but because of that reason I did not...

I would immagine that they would be able to vent once you are moving. I mean, there should be some sort of circulation goingg under the FRC's...
Mabie fabricate some sort of quick disconnect for them... Rubber male and female connections. push on, lift off.. I've seen pix of your car, you have plenty of room, right?

In the rx-7? There's a bunch of room. For some reason, it seems there's more space under the hood of the mazda than the chevy. Maybe it's because I don't have the radiator in yet.
As for the quick disconnect thing, don't they just clip to the fuel rails anyway?

Yes do it, alot of fun when doing it yourself, and it is time consuming but I think alot of fun. I plan on doing mine, and then painting them color of car, and airbrushing threm and then clearcoating them =)

Street & Performance sells chromed fuel rails if you wanted to go that route. They also offer modified rails with rear hookups to make LS1 transplants easier.

While we're on the subject, wouldn't it be better from a performance standpoint to have separate lines feeding each fuel rail, instead of one inlet on the driver's side rail?
