Default HPT Scanner and OBD2 LT1s

Has anyone tried to use HP Tuners scanner on 96-97 OBD2 LT1 F-bodies. A-Tap will work on them. Just some parameters are not supported. A-Tap will remove the PIDs from your list if you are trying to log them. I would just try it but I don't have one readibly available to plug into.

i don't have any experience... but so long as they're GM OBDII I believe HPT can read the generic OBDII codes/PIDs ...

i think you can scan all SAE pids. You wont get KS and other stuff that is LS1 specific. RPM, MAP, TPS, MAF, VSS and a few other should be supported by the SAE pids. Anywas its enough to get a good WB readout on em....

You can only scan GM sae specific paramaters. You can't see stuff like injector pulsewidth, o2 voltages, trans temp ect.... it will show rpm, ect temps ect that are basic to all GM obdII cars. None of the live functions will work. However tonight I just found out the live functions work on S10's. go figure.
