Default th-400 whining?

I just got my th-400 install finished and i took it for a road test and it whines. its not loud but i can hear it noticably. not shure if it is normal for the tranny, it is with all the "works." Just figured i would ask its a rossler tranny and a ptc converter. anybody know of a possible cause?

I just ordered my Th-400 from Rossler today. How much was the ptc converter?
Hope nothing is wrong with it, but it is more of a race tranny so it might make some noise.

Mine wines as well, and has been since the first 100 miles of after we installed it. What is an allison screen and were can you get one? What exactly is causing the wine?

Did you check your oil level? I guess mine was REAL low because one of the steel lines going to the trans cooler was rubbing on the crank pulley and it got a whole in it which was pouring out oil.

lf your filter plugs the pump will suck air and what you hear are in air bubbles popping. those screens should be availble at any trans shop. if not l can get them for you jk ps your trans should not be plugging the filter

I think the gears in the th400 are noisey. Most come from the factory with a plastic 'front internal gear ring'. (In a 4L80E this is replaced with the speed sensor ring.)
This is supposed to eliminate noise, most rebuilders leave them out.
This is my opinion. I've heard plenty of 400's and 4L80's whine in first, both original and rebuilt, new and old filters.

yea i called rossler up and he said it is normal if it whines in 1st and 2nd but not 3rd and that is what is happening so my worries are gone. thanks for the input. but for others this is what i was told. If its in nuetral and it whines then it may be converter or the pump if it whines in 1st-3rd it is the tranny and if it the pump it will whine at all times. Also if its the converter it will whine loider as RPM increases. just thought i would let you all know.
