Default torque converter suggestions for just a bolt on car

I've read here adusting or getting rid of torque management is just asking for A4 trans problems even on a bolt on car?

All I'm planning is LTs, LSX intake manifold and a mild torque converter and be done.

I've heard of people getting to big / the stall speed and car runs like a dog around town, I'm not prepared to lose any low end power.

What is you're recommendation for a torque converter up grade.
I'm thinking not higher than 2500.

Thanks for any advice

My experience with torque managment and deleting it has been with out issue.

I have a 4000 stall convertor in a bolt-on car w/Nitrous and have had NO issues what-so-ever.

When it was my daily driver it was good, and now as a toy it has no troubles at all.

I don't have a tune yet so I don't know much about torque management. I've heard it's best to get rid of it. But I don't know, that's only what I've heard. Do a search, I'm sure you can find it.

As for a stall, I can suggest a good one for you. I know it's not a 2500 but I have a Vig3200 and I love it. This is my daily driver too. I drive to and from work 5 days a week. I don't even know that it's there any more except for when I stomp on it.

I know you don't want anything higher than a 2500, but let me tell you this. If I bought one any smaller than the vig3200, I know I would have regreted it. For what you've done to your car you might as well compliment it with a good converter. This is just my opinion though.

Also, the converter in my car is considered mild for LS1's, and it definitely isn't a dog around town.

There are lots of choices out there, so don't limit yourself to a 2500. If you're going to stall it, make it count.

Again do a search!

im a big fan of the tci streetfighter 3000 t/c.
it drives like stock around town and took off almost .6 tenths at the track.

I wouldn't go anything less than a 3500 stall IMO based on the hours of reading I did prior to purchasing my SSF3500 that netted me a gain of 8 tenths. (I changed to 3:42 also from 2:73) My previous best and my new best were both made at the same track and with almost identical DA's so conditions played very little in the gains.

I wouldn' t recommend anything less than a 3000. I have a Yank SS3800, and this is my first 'verter. I DON' T regret it. I thought it would be too loose for my daily commute, but it' s great. You definately wanna' get a tune though. I lover the converter a lot more when I have a good tune in there.
