Nitrous system on ls1
Are ls1 engines friendly towards direct port nitrous systems? Does this engine handle the hp boost that a direct port system can dish out? I mean, I would love an ls1 engine, especially if it were forced or had nitrous. I just wonder about it with it being rwd. I don't particularly care to be going 40 mph and hit the nitrous and spin off of the road (rwd). But if it is fairly safe, I may look into getting a 99-00 trans am.
Thanks

the stock ls1 can handle aprox 600 rwhpno matter how it gets there as long as it is tuned. after that, its a crap shoot. even getting to that point is iffy.
the drive train. thats a different issue. lol

Well, would a 100 direct port be safe? I just don't want so much instant torque that the rwd just spins me out of control. I want controlled power. Can I get that with a 100 dpn system?

the easy way to help that is go with a 100-125 dyr shot. the dry kit hits much softer, its better for traction.
it ramps the power up slower, so it is easy on driveline parts as well.

You might want to check out our direct port nozzle system our nozzles plug right in to the fuel injector ports, very slick install, and can spray 100-400hp
Find it here

hehe.... having a direct port to do a 100hp shot is like using the jaws-of-life to cut coupons from the sunday paper. Massive (but really cool) overkill.
I wish I could afford DP.
If you ever race people are going to roll their eyes and say "suuuuurrreee" when you tell them you're only running a 100 shot.
