Default HELP ASAP....car/alarm acting funny...annoying

I was awaken this morning by my car alarm (factory) beeping, well honking as in the horn. It was a beep, beep, beep, etc. So I went outside to see if someone hit my car. No visible signs. So then I checked to see if it was broken into. No visible signs. I disabled the alarm, got in the car, and started it. Let the car run for like 5 minutes to check battery level, etc. Everything seemed fine. Reactivated the alarm, went inside. Now, an hour later, the alarm went beep-beep, only twice. What is the deal?????? Is there a voltage problem? Is something wrong? It never did this before. Help please!!!

Thanks
Andy

It could be a dying battery or a voltage draw that is killing the battery. That will cause the factory alarm to go off.

The only thing I can think that could draw voltage is I hooked up a shift light 2 weeks ago. But that only hooks up to a switched 12v source, ground, and tach signal, which wouldn't draw when th car is off. The battery voltage seems to be on par since when I started the car up it was reading like 13v. I have no idea. Now my car is sitting out front with the alarm off. I hope I figure this out by tonight so I can feel secure.

Maybe the shock sensor is starting to go bad???? I'd try turning down the sensitivity first - if that doesn't work you can unplug the connector and see if that stops it. Just an idea...

Don't know, but if you got a clean system -subs, amps, mids or rims- somone may be forcing your alarm to go off, so you can turn off the alarm so when they get in your car they don't have to worry about an alarm and unwanted attention.

I removed the shock sensor. I first tried reducing the sensitivity, but that did not help. So I just unplugged the sensor. So far so good!

Thanks

Thought that might be it - usually when they go bad the alarm will just start going off right after arming for no reason. Give it a while to be sure...then get a new sensor.

If the car was outside in the wind probably normal. I'd reconnect it, if it continues to go off like above try turning down the sensitivity first, hard for it to get wet. You can get a new shock sensor, just plug in - don't think they need reprogramming.

Wow my car is doing the same exact thing. I arm it, and about 5 seconds later, it beeps twice then stops. Then sometimes, it will go off about 1/2 hour later, just two beeps. So is this shock sensor located in the spare tire well? Because I think I saw one there near the monsoon amp. Man I hope that is all it is cause that would be an easy fix. Or is it another shock sensor under the hood or something? Thanks guys!

Just remove the shock sensor in the rear wheelwell area where the spare is. I just removed it and never replaced it. Easy fix!

IT WORKED!!! Thank you!!! I will eventually get around to replacing that sensor. At least I can lock my car now without waking up my neighbors
