Gears & Axles - Pinion nut won't tighten anymore!!!

I'm using a buddy's impact gun from his shop. It's a 1/2" drive and used on 18 wheelers. (so it's not a weak gun) But the pinion nut won't tighten anymore. There is still a little play in it. There really isn't room under the car to put a cheater pipe on the end of a breaker bar. Any other ideas?

I'm guessing that you removed it to replace the seal? Your crush sleeve may be collapsed like said above.

:thinker: Nevermind; the air was just turned down on the compressor. (Pretty obvious fix.)

Wow, Thats kinda hard to check pre-load on.
