Default Transmission Cooler Fan?

I have a B&M cooler and curious if they make seperate fans that I can put on it to keep the trans a little cooler?

Most of the aftermarket fan companies make fans that will fit the B&M coolers - just take a look on their sites for the appropriate size to fit your cooler.

I would say that a cooler is really not needed (i.e. overkill). I have a PY3600E with just the cooler - never had a problem with the tranny temps. Of course, I don't have my cooler mounted to the front of the rad either - mine is custom mounted behind the lower PS opening in the front fascia. Oil cooler is mounted behind the lower DS opening. That way they both get a lot of fresh cool air, don't impede flow to the rad, and don't soak up any heat from the rad due to contact.

you have to take into consideration that we live in the HOT south. me especially. im actually considering getting a bigger cooler w/fan and an af. market tranny pan, sometime before it gets really hot here again.

Well, I will agree that Spring, Fall, and Winter here in PA are nothing like the weather you guys see (wish it was) but this past summer temps were in the 90's every day for probably 2 months so I think that was a pretty good test.

And the stall I have is in the higher range so my verter should be making more heat than the lower stall that InfiniteReality has.

I did forget to mention that I also have a Derale Deep Cooling Pan with the flo-thru cooling tubes built in - don't know to what degree they aid in cooling but I figured they couldn't hurt

I also do a lot of town driving with the verter unlocked, a lot of stops/starts which will have the verter running hotter than if in the locked 'cruise' mode on an open highway.

mine is a good bit larger than his as well, i didnt install mine before the hot weather broke, but i can already tell that i will probably need some extra cooling capabilities. its triple digit heat here during the summer(i dont even want to know what the temp on the roadways reaches!), and its still 90s during a good part of the "cool" months.

how much did that pan set you back? i think thats the one i was told about a while back.

I got mine thru Summit Racing, Derale P/N is 14104 - listed for 700R4 tranny but works for 4L60E just the same, cost was $72.50.

They also make a very nice 30,000 GVW oil/tranny cooler with integrated cooling fan.

I don't know if any of the sponsors carry Derale, but if you search on Derale @ Summit you will see all the products they carry.

I put a deep trans pan on mine when I put the stall in. Still on hot days with A/C in traffic it runs a tad over 210degrees. I don't plan on mounting mine to the front of the radiator like most, the FTRA is in the way. Got another idea but trying to find the best way and keep the FTRA.

i daily drive a 5100 stall non lock up 8" converter 90 miles a day with NO over drive. ie 3000 rpm's (60 mph) for about 45 min and my converter almost never sees 210. i just have it mounted infront of my radiator.
