Default A little tape and loom goes along ways... PICS!

After seeing some pictures from our very own LawmanSS on wiring, I took the time to seperate and reloom all of the drivers side injector harness, TB-TPS, IAC, IAT, etc. I've also hidden the MAF connector (dont want to cut it off yet) and the EVAP Connector, aswell as the other little "whatchamacallit" thats on the back of the drivers side intake manifold. (used to hook up to AIR, etc) Someone give me an idea on what exactly that is.
The passengerside is next, but after the LS6 PCV mod is complete.
Oh and a small picture of what powersteering fluid does to paint.

Looks nice. I hid my MAF connector too rather than cut it off.

Since you're not running your MAF, you should do a mod like I did:

Yeah, I posted it here:

I tracked down the PVC at Menards. I think it was 4 or 5 bucks.

Do you by chance have a before pic, so us v6ers can see what the bay looked like before the mod?

Looks awesome, Brando...nice work!

That sucks about the PS fluid...I think I would have lost it if I opened my hood and saw that!

I took that mystery connector in the rear and removed the terminals from the connector body and taped them up into the bundle. I'm going to have to look into Speed Density tuning so that I could ditch the MAF...that would eliminate even more clutter!

oh, maybe an hr, or 2. didnt really pay attention to time. I took and wrapped alot of the wires in tape to keep the bundle tight, and some - like the IAC all the way, or near it. All of the GM crap is gone.

LawmanSS, I'll do that, didnt really think about it, but, as you know, when you unwrap them, you can get enough room to have them stuck behind the intake manifold. The MAF wiring is tucked in the loom that goes behind the PS pump, but the connector is still there, just fairly well hidden.

I'm going to go back and do some more when i pull the intake and do the ls6 pcv. Its pretty hard to get back to #7 with the rails/intake on so I'll get back there and remove some crap so forth.

LawmanSS, I think its time you posted some pics up. That or emailed me some more recent ones. Thanks for all the info so far. I'll let ya know about the PCM relo

at the least send me a couple of your "working" pics...
the pcm relo should be interesting. I should have done that when the motor was out, aswell as doing the fusebox relocation... but I'll figure it out..

Hey Brandon, I still have the "fuel vapor canister" hooked up. The thing that plugs into the driver's side of the manifold behind the throttle body. Am I able to get rid of that? What about the fuel line that plugs into the canister. I've got all my wiring minimized and the coil packs relocated, I'd like to do that too. Any tips?

Your looming looks good BTW.

I wish my coil relo kit woulda worked alittle better... I'll have to put straight boots on the driver's side instead of being identical to the pass side.

I just unplugged the deal, put a vacuum cap on the intake port, and one on the hard line. Nothing special...

Oh and with the way your engine bay is going, take a look t Toonz 's signature, he has rails with polished fittings etc... the only thing you'd have to do is polish the russel hardline to -6an fitting... it would look good.

All right, so I can just cap it and thats all. Does the electrical conector that's there- will it throw a code if it isn't hooked? I notice the factory line has a valve, like a tire pressure spud, will the line I cap have any pressure built up? Can a rubber cap suffice or should it be something that can handle pressure? Thanks for any advice! -Joshua

I imagine removing the evap will throw a code, but have no idea. Because my ses light was on way before this because the O2s burnt up or the maf being unplugged or something, just need to turn those off in hptuners and that will be good.
the factory fuel lrailshave a shrader valve on them, like the tire pressure spud, but other than that i dont know what you're refering too.
The only caps that i installed were the blue one on the intake, (looks like ***) and the little on top of the evap hardline, right next to the fuel line.
Do a search for EVAP Relocation by LawmanSS, he's posted in a few of my threads with some info on it, in one of 1BadMoFo's recent threads and a few others.
This will give you the ability to keep the evap without worrying about other problems.

If you do completely ditch it, I'd just pull the brass fitting out of the intake and find a plug for it...
