I have a 97 trans am with a rebuilt a4 trans. it was shifting fine about 2 weeks ago but now just crusing around it won't shift to the next gear untill around 4 thousand rpm even if i compleatly lay off the throttle. Help please i have never seen this before.

Sounds like a burned up band. That or for some reason ur not building enough line pressure to engage the pistons that hold and release the band.
