I sanded mine with a Black and Decker Mouse. Time consuming but worth it!

spray a high build primer and sand with 600 grit and you can get it smooth as a babies butt

actually I will scuff with a scotch pad, clean with a wax and grease remover really well, spray an adehsion promoter, then spray the high build primer. Once the primer is nice and dry I will wet sand with 600 grit and then I am ready for paint.

I sanded off the casting marks with 80 grit, then used 180 on all of the tubes. I then sprayed it with high build primer,

sanded it with around 300 until it was really smooth, then sprayed it with a black poly primer with a hardener.

Wet sanded that with 600, then sprayed 2 coats of basecoat, then 3 of clear. I like how it turned out..

You dont need to do the black poly primer i think, but the store i bought it from said it was more heat resistant.
thought id put in a few... be sure to take your time.
