Default Exhaust heating problem: PLEASE HELP!

To start off with, I have a carbed solid roller 404ci sbc, 10.5 : 1 compression, aluminum edelbrock performer RPM heads, and aluminum intake in my 95 firebird formula. I have the BBK ceramic coated shorty headers and the y pipe that came with them. From there, it runs into borla catback exhaust. Remember that my 95 has the single cat system. I have some big exhaust heating problems on my driver’s side. The temps are between 450 and 500 and around 240 on the passenger’s side. I think that the driver’s side exhaust, since it bends and then goes into the more straight part of the Y pipe, isn’t getting too much of the heat to the back of the car. Any suggestions on what to do. I am really open. I am currently thinking of converting it to a dual exhaust car, but I wish I had plans on how to because it will take me a long time and many hours to figure it out just right. Please get back to me on this.
Thanks.
