Default What is the best way to launch?

I was wondering what the best way to launch my stock 2000 SS A4 was. I haven't had the opprotunity for any real races yet (only a stock Prelude and a Z3, and I'm not even sure the Z was giving it 100%), but if any other races come up, I would like to get the best launch possible. I would appreciate any info.

footbrake it up and let it go. Leave the shifter in OD. If you have traction problems, then take it easy off throttle and ease into it. Youll get a feel for it.....

Agreed. Try out different techniques to see what works best for you. When my car was stock, it left the line best at idle. Just practice until you find what's best for you and your ride.

That is basically the way that I have been launching, except I put it in Drive. Why leave it in OD? I thought that it robbed power.

You have fourth gear with OD.

I've never raced my car in anything but OD.
