Default C6 Z06 vs Viper vs Ford Gt

I thought this was very interesting. I'll take one of each, or just the Z06?

Hummm... I'll take the nearly half the price and only 3 tenths of a second slower around the track... save the rest for mod money

VERY nice....thanks Robert! Ellis was telling me about a magazine article that compares those 3. And he said the Vette was faster in the 1/4. So I guess the message is 06 + C6 + Z06 = bargain. I'll take a black one please....

only 3 tenths off the gt, and yet it is litterally half the price. i say for the price of the gt, buy the z06, drop 15,000 into suspension, breaks, and engin, and have a car that would be 3 seconds quicker in the track then the gt. then use the rest of the money to buy a house. plus you would have a better looking car to put into your house, imo. seems like ford keeps having to open up their history books to find "new" cars. don't get my wrong, the gt looks good, and the mustang is alright, but their are just too many stangs, eben the new ones.

I read the article of that (automobile mag) about a month ago, but the video was cool.

In the article it also talked about the daily driveability of the cars, and how it was hard to see out of the back of the viper, and even worse in the GT. Said the Z06 would be the best as a daily driver. The article also dogged on the shifter in the vette and viper.

I'll take a z06 please.

That video was tight! God I love that car..

And I would say 85-90 Corvettes can be classified as "crappy." Not to mention the '84..

Seems to me the vette was always considered a "crappy" car until recently (c5, c6). Almost every review I ever read had poor things to say about vettes. The cars never compared well to other cars in their class/price range.

That being said, I would take a new Z06 over any of those other cars hands down.

Cool video, thanks for the link.

That guy might be an editor but he's definitely no driver. Seriously could you shift a car any slower??? Also, drive through the apex...not around it..... that and the comment about how the corvette used to be a crappy car. The video was cool but get a different person to comment/drive.

You make a good point Bobby. Why did the GT & the Z get loose coming out of the corners & the Viper with all it's torque didn't? I was wondering about that myself....

Have you ever driven a C4 and thought about what else was offered at the time? Last time I checked when I brought the C4 to the track it ran a low 14 at 94 (I think) mph. I may be a little unrefined, but compared that to a Thirdgen, or heck a Porche 911 of the time, they are not crappy cars.

Not too mention the active handling on the Z06, which maybe the viper has. I always heard the viper is like a ZR1 on a road coarse, very able in the right hands but twitchy in the wrong hands. That guy pretty much said the opposite that it was very forgiving and novices could handle it well. Maybe the newer Vipers are better...

The original C4's were considered pretty bad *** in 84, Corvettes were nice cars for 74-82 they just didn't have any real Performance. My 76 was like driving a cadillac vs my 70 LT1 roadster was a completely different animal although the cars shared alot of parts. I don't think any vette is crappy.

Yea, the '84 has the lowest resale price of ALL the vettes, a real dog. Good for a daily beater though.

I think that has most to do with the CFI 350, not the actual car.
