Default Got Bored - 105 LED License Plate Light

Noticed the other day that my license plate wasn't maxed out with LEDs, so I ordered some more white, 13000mcd LEDs . I was glad to see that the old one has been on there for almost 1 1/2 years with no problems. This all happened before Rita and just now recieved them. I put an extra 3 on each end after these pics cause I really wanted over 100 on it. I'll get some night time pictures when it gets dark.

Total LEDs on the hawk now: 852

Have you noticed any sort of excessive power draw these 850+ LEDs draw? I realize that alone they wouldn't draw much of anything, but I would think 850 is somewhat straining?

Nope haven't noticed any excessive power draw. Each LED is drawing about 25mA of current. Lots of the LEDs replaced the stock incandecent bulbs

Few more hours, I'm waiting to see how much brighter it is than the old one.

Meissenation
That's a good point. Considering each is running at 25mA each, that's 21.3 amps total! Glad I got rid of every incandecent bulb short of the DRLs and taillights, hopefully it'll offset it some. The car has no problems as it sits now though.

Inifinite, yes do that, and can you show me the write up or diagram I can do it, I just have alot on my plate right now. If you can get me the materials list, and diagram I would appreciate it. Do you think 80K mcd's are tooo bright for the Reg. light, map light, dome light, and the filler mod? Let me know ASAP, cuz I am about to order them off of Ebay.

Overkill with that many lights? Damn thats rediculously bright. I try to do my best to keep the cops NOT paying attention to my car and focused on the ricers. That liscence plate light...all 105 of them sure would get their panties in a bunch around here.

This is basically what I did, just had 3 LEDs in series instead of 4. I repeated it several times (11 "groups" total).

I promise the pictures don't do the brightness justice. This thing is hella bright! No incadesent bulbs are this bright or white.
I called the state police and asked them if there was anything wrong with making my license plate brighter. They said as long as you can't see the bulbs and it's white light, it's all good. I'm still waiting to get pulled over, this thing lights up the whole rear ground behind the car!
