Default Do I Need Lunati Pushrods?

I will be purchasing the 55004LUN Lunati Hydraulic Roller 221/221 .558 .558 @ 114. Lunati has matching pushrods/springs for this cam, but will Comp Cams pushrods/springs work?

If the cam and springs are the only changes, there is no need for pushrods at all. Your stock ones will be fine. When you start shaving heads, then you should start worrying about the pushrods.

I would not install a .558 lift cam without hardened push rods. Also the Comp 918 springs would be a good choice.

I would replace the OEM pushrods with aftermarket (preferrably Comp Hi-Tech chromemoly) no matter what I did, besides bolt-ons,cto the engine. But that's just me. I've seen too many pictures of bent/broken OEM pushrods, some of them looking like boomerangs, to take any chances. Again, this is just my opinion, and not pushrod gospel.

You need to find out whether or not the cam circle radius is the same as or smaller than stock. Thunder Racing cams use a smaller radius and thus need longer pushrods, which are supplied in their cam kits. Either way, you should upgrade the rods for strenth, just make sure you get the right length.
