Default WOOT!! New Package Today... Futral 370

Well I am a happy camper! I got the 370" short block I ordered a while back. I had Futral Pick out the parts based on my plans, Allan says the block'll handle 800 to the wheels.

FMS 6.0L Shortblock
Diamond Pistons -15cc 8.85cr w/72cc heads
Mahle Rings
Manley Sportsman 6.125" Rods
ARP Main Studs
Federal Mogul Main Bearings
King Rod Bearings
Dura Bond Cam Bearings
Bore/hone w stress plates, debur
Balance/Blueprinted/assembled

Now I just get to play the waiting game for the heads to get here...

How much for the parts if you don't mind me asking? It's going to be a beast as if it's not already!

It was a Package deal, I supplied the block and crank. He did everything else. Price was $2650. I found a Block and crank on E-bay for $300 and shipped it directly to them.

Honestly, My goal is 650hp/700tq at the wheels. I wanna see 140mph traps in the mostly full weight car, only need 11 mph to get it done. I do have a few parts coming to help with the weight though...

Sweet Ryan! I can't wait to see what that monster runs. I love the shape of those pistons. Looks tight too (cyls & rod caps). Certainly are some nice motors up here all the sudden. You'd think we moved to Texas....

Forged 422 with spray...........

That's my long term goal!! Maybe I will be able to afford it in a couple of years, and by then it'll be obsolete.

I just got off the phone with AFR... 5-8 more weeks before anything comes from them...Some flood in Ohio destroyed the castings. I hate playing the waiting game.

That sucks! On the bright side, I was just reading an article about a guy that built a stroker with AFR 225s & twin 60s (which should just about be = to your BIG-*** hair dryer). He hit 700+ rwhp, so it looks like your goal is within reach. I'm almost as anxious to see your reuslts as I am mine. That thing is going to be NASTY!!!

If you want to get something up and running, I have a set of MTI stage 3 LS6 heads that I need to sell for peanuts. Not AFRs, but a good way to get moving. I'd send them for $1400 bucks.

Every time Im told a certain time frame for heads, it ends up being more than twice that estimate. That worked with ARE, MTI, AFR, and TEA.

You can add PRC to that list. Its seems that the sponsors only make(invest) a couple sets of heads run a special and then only make what was ordered. By then it takes forever due the the volumn they have to make, but AFR's you woldnt think you'd have that problem. More expensive head that never goes on special. I hate waiting, just drives me nuts when I buy somethinmg online and then have to wait for ever to recieve it.

Nothing is wrong with the old heads, they just aren't AFR 225s. And of course they already have my $$$. Tony Mamo is a great guy to deal with, I don't know if I can handle the wait...
