Forged pistons and Ring lands (N20)
Ive heard of guys cracking pistons down to the top ring land using stock pistons while spraying nitrous (100-200 shots), will forged pistons ever crack?
What caues this crack to happen and why is upgrading to a forged piston important?

Uhhmmm.... it's ring LAND.... not ring gland.... but you prolly knew that
Anything can break given enough stress. A forged peice is your best bet for longevity in a PA motor. With a propper tune, it(forged piston)will last as long as a stock peice used in a stock application.
The reason guys are craking ring lands is :
A) too big a hit on a hyperutectic(cast) piston..... or....
B) too big a hit on a ragged edge tune..... or....
C) A&B

Running too rich will lift ring lands like no other. Too lean will start to burn the piston if temps get much above 1500 degrees. With a hyperpathetic piston, which has no tolerance for detonation, it will simply crack apart and/or explode. The forged piston can handle much more detonation and heat, but still has its limits.

Also on the topic of DP systems, are these harder on the pistons than a convention Wetkit?

It can be done you just have to be real talented. That is how I destroyed my stock motor.

Stock ring gaps are the reason that people break pistons. Use a good low tension ring and youd be surprised how strong they really are. I was spraying over 235rwhp worth of juice on mine and it was all good. What wasnt was the fact that I broke one my low tension rings sliding the pistons back in the block and didnt want to wait on them supplier to ship me a new one. I used a stock ring with matching gap as the rest, but its also a cast ring. Its closed up and broke the ring land. All the other pistons are perfect and all look black.
