Should I stay in 3rd or shift to 4th....
10 bolt w/stock 3.42 gear, my problem is I am shifting to 4th right before the finish line and trapping 111/112. Shiftlight is set for 6500, so I'm going through at 5100 in 4th which is horrid.
I'm guessing I should trap 114-117 with the f13(stock heads+ all bolt ons)
According to the gear calculator: (http://www.f-body.org/gears/)
6300 108
6400 110
6500 112
6600 113
6700 115
6800 117
6900 118
7000 120
According to my logging software 6452rpm=107mph(3rd), 6620rpm=110mph(3rd)
So do I bump the rev limiter and go through the traps at 6800-6900 or so?
Car is making good power, 390rwhp @ 6250rpm in 95temps & high humdity with no correction.
Thanks,

I would maybe get some 3.73's if your budget allows. I used to have the same problem until I put my 12 bolt with 3.73's in and then I was able to wind out 3rd and shift 4th to cross the traps at about 114-116 mph.

What kind of tire are you on? Slick?
You should be good for a tad over 112 in third if you're on a 26" slick.
Your calcs might be close if your on a regular street tire.
