Convertible Vehicles - replacement top cost?

I took my 96 formula to get an estimate to get the top replaced (it has the white vinyl top instead of the haartz cloth) I was quoted $1200. I was told it would need a new rear window because the one I have now is seperated from the top and it's one piece with the top....

What did everyone else pay to have a top replaced?

$1200 seemed like a lot for a vinyl top...

look around for prices on a replacement top and remember they get it cheaper, then you can get a ballpark figure for labor involved.
