Default Yank SS3200 or Yank PY3400 stall??

Basically I'm after a new stall. I've narrowed my choice down to these two, but would like some other comments first.

The car is a 99 Z28 with 2.73 rear. It will only have minor bolt ons such as:

-LT's
-Cat back
-lid
-and a good tune

with maybe a LS6 intake and TR224 cam sometime in the future.

The car will mainly be used for fast road use. These are British roads so that means tight, twisty, bumpy with plenty of hard braking and lots of shifting (kick down included).

I'm needing something that will give me very good throttle response without being too harsh or violent. But that will help over come any of the 'flat spots' due to the gearing. The car will see occasional 1/4 mile use, so this area will still be a benefit.

In addition (or maybe constrast??), fuel is darn near $7 gallon, so I don't want to totally destroy the fuel economy. So I'm quite keen to keep the 2.73 gears, also the 150mph+ potential in D is quite useful.

HOWEVER

If an alternative rear ratio would be miles better suited to either stall, I'd certainly consider it.

Personally I favour the PY3400, although it costs more I'm quite happy to pay to get the right one.

Cheers.

With the ratio rear you have the PY3400 is a very good choice with it being built for a power adder the NA feel will be very throttle friendly and have great power if you climb any grades, in addition the extra size of the converter 258mm as to the 245mm ss3200 will keep temps low.
You also get the extra heavy duty clutch in the PY3400 and will not out grow this converter in the future.
Thank's for thinking about us!

Cheers Mike. That sort of confirms my thoughts.

On a side note would you be happy supplying me in the UK, or would I be better off speaking to some of your distributors?

PYE 3400 will be nice and tight. It will cure the 1-2 dead spot but to completely cure the 2-3 upshift takes a bigger stall which will defeat your other goals.

I don't see any mods listed for you, but getting HPT or similar and reprogramming your shift points would probably help a lot for road racing.
