Default missing hose on intake?

I recently bought a 01 Z28. I was cleaning up the engine bay and I noticed that there was a nipple on the right of the intake and the hose that connects to it was missing. I am guessing there should be a hose there. I have researched and found that the 2000-2002 models are suppose to have a hose there. I think it acts as some sort of release valve or somethin.

My question is where does that hose connect to from the intake??? Should I get one or not even worry about it???

By "right" side, do you mean drivers' side?
..and when you say intake, do you mean the filter lid or the manifold?
If it's on the filter lid then my guess would be the fresh air hose to the AIR pump was there. At any rate, if the hole is "after" the filter-which surely it is? - then I would plug it to keep crud out of your intake.
Details, please.

Sounds like the AIR (Emissions type stuff) hose coming from the AIR pump going into your induction lid. Does the car have headers? Sounds like the previous owner may have removed AIR and plugged it up with his nipple.

Default is it okay to disconnect the hose on the right side of the intake?

Does anybody know if you have to have the hose hooked up that runs up to the right side of the intake on 01 Z28. Its for the AIR emissions I believe. I dont have one and there is a hole there and was wondering if it will hurt anything if it's not connected anywhere???

Why not leave it in? It would work if you stuck a breather on the end of the hose if you wanted to leave it disconnected.

You need to post a pic, doesn't sound like the air injection to me since that goes to the lid.
