Default Different types of 4L60e transmissions???

I was bored at work so I decided to look on eBay at the going rates for 4L60e trannys just in case I toast mine. There are many different ones out there for GM cars. I saw some for the Chevy Astro, as well as V6 Firebirds and Camaros. I am guessing the one I have for the LS1 is more built. Is that a true statement? If so what parts are different? I am guessing they are not swappable because they are weaker and the bell housings are different. Thanks.

The main thing is the LS1 specific input shaft.
There are also several minor design changes through the years. The removable bellhousing and six bolt tail housing are the better ones.
I've lost track of the bellhousing bolt patterns.
I think all LSX transmissions have the same bellhousing not sure on the input. The ones with the non removable bell are the same for the 4.3 V6 and all V8's. Small v6's and 4 cylinders have a different bellhousing pattern.

I have one from a truck in my car. The pan is deeper and a fbody pan would not fit on it. The part that the shifter lever bolts too is longer and supposedly it has some stronger clutch packs or something from the factory.. but I'm not positive. It seems to be working well in my RX7.

Different input shaft/drum, LS1 is 300mm, different stator for the pump and different bell housing are the pieces I had do replace to use an Astro 2002 4L60E in my LS1.
