Default Clutch or Tranny?

Hey everyone, last night, i went to downshift int 3rd from 5th at like 45 mph to speed up and my tranny started to grind when i went to do it. The car has 75k on it. Now when i go to shift, it shifts kinda hard. When i am stoped, it is hard to get into the gears. Its not just 1st and second it is all of them. I did not have this problem before. The ony problem i did have was that it would grind from 1st to second and second to third under really high rpms. This is on the stock clutch also. I was wondering if anyone could help me out. Thank you.....Jarett

sounds like premature engagement, your slave may be taking a dump. with my experiences with the t56's in f-bodys, whenever i had premature engagement(in otherwords, the hydraulics arent disengaging the clutch 100% when you push the pedal down) it was always hard to shift, and really hard to get in and out of gear from a stand still, but most of the time, once your rolling...your allright. does this sound like your car?

yes and no, it seems like if i lay on it and like shift at 5 it shifts how it used to. But when i just cruise, and shift at 3, it still is hard to shift the car. Also it seems like my synchros are goin bad neway. Also if im moving at like 10 mph and go to shift into first it will grind

I've got a 98 too and my stock slave went out at around 65k...I had all the same symptoms you are having now. Wouldn't doubt your synchros are starting to go bad either, however.

i'm having very similar problems. However, mine shifts decently normal driving, but if i'm WOT shifting anywhere about about 5 grand, it doesn't want to go into 2nd. ideas?
