Default Meguires Cleaner Wax Results on Swirl Marks!!!

OK, well I have been researching how to get rid of all the swirl marks on my black SS. At first I was going to do the whole clay, polish, wax deal, but decided that I wanted to try to use the least amount of abrasives as possible. So I picked up some Meguires Carnuba Cleaner Wax. Take a Look. This was after only one application. BIG difference. I knew it wasn't going to be a complete cure, but didn't think it would help this much!

Looking good. I bet if you put a coat of their NXT on top of that, followed by some meguires #7 glaze and it will really shine. My cars after I did this:

Look at the hood reflection.

Yea, I'm going to try to go over it again with some other wax (not a cleaner). But I want to use this stuff at least once more to try and get some more of those scratches out. Pointless to put anything on it until after that.

Honestly, there are probably a good amount of fillers in it that gave you the results...meaning that the results will be temporary.

like ZaneO said, you are not getting scratches out, just filling them. But It is a good temporary fix and looks good.

Get yourself a porter cable polisher man. It is the best thing that I have ever used. I used it on my Z before I left the states and stored it. It looked just like the first picture that you had. After I was done I thought it had 4 miles on it again. BTW my Z is black too. I recently did my SS here in Greece and DAMN I hate red but it looked so good I threw the thought of repainting it out of my head.

Even if that is the case I don't mind waxing, so I think I am going to just hide the scratches for now. I know absolutely nothing about polishing a car and am not about to try to lean how on my car. Maybe if I had a beater, but I don't. I considered polishing, but I am worried that I will only make things worse.

Dude I was scared too. But I really dont think you can *** anything up. Now if you used a regular rotary style buffer im sure you can mess up the paint in a snap. I bought the PC for a last chance attempt to make a 2 yr old (at the time) black paint job atleast look decent w/o swirls etc. and it made it look like glass. When I was still in the states everyone and their mother wanted to borrow my **** after they seen what it had done. A dude I know bought one and charges people to buff out their rides.

Yeah, like mwill15 said, I've always been too nervous to try one of those things on my ride too, although I really want to learn because I put a lot of effort into keeping her nice looking. Is the polisher different from a buffer? Will it actually remove scratches and fine swirl marks or just make it easier to apply the polish? Is there a particular model you'd recommend for a beginner and a good place to pick it up? Sorry for all the questions....

Are sure you can layer those two? You might just be removing the nxt when you put on the #7 glaze.
