Anymore bolt-on ideas??
Hey guys, Im trying to pretty much go as far as i can on power mods without a cam or head change....dont have a lot spare time and initial upfront funds for H/C swap for now....Ive put about every bolt-on i can think of on the car so far(see Sig)...any other suggestions? Im thinking maybe rocker arms...since i can put those on relatively easy and later be beneficial for H/C swap... Thanks as always fellas
Oh yeah...with a 100 shot that i have just put on, how low you guys think she could go?

Why not do a cam now and forget the rocker arms. Then do the heads at a later date. It's really easy to put a cam in an LS1, you don't even have to take off the intake manifold. Check out the specials at Texas Speed and get their kit with springs/pushrods/ etc.

dang man, the relitive cheep price of modding the LS1 is why im so attracted to it!
For what it would cost to mod my 4v 4.6 to get into the 12's, i could BUY an LS1 car, and mod it for 12's.
Im amazed at how "cheep" it is!
(just immagine spending $1200-1500, just for your 4 cams.

You could get one of those SSRA kits for about $200. They work pretty well and unlike other ram air kits, they don't block the radiator to the point of decreasing its ability to cool the engine. That's really the only other bolt on you can do. You could convert to true duals with an X pipe. That will give you some good gains all throughout the rpm range, but if you need to run cats for emissions, it'd be hard to pull that off.

Texas Speed, one of the sponsors, is having a special right now. You can get a choice of any of their cams, PRC double valve spring set, and 7.400" hardened pushrods for $690. Add a Rollmaster double chain timing set for $92 and you are good to go. Oh, you'll also need a blue o-ring for the oil pump from the dealer, and get the Cam install kit from Texas Speed, it includes the gaskets you'll need. I think they are around $50. As far as which cam, do some research and put the cam in that will go with the heads you want in the future. I like the TSP 224R 112, or the TSP 225 112 (go with 114 LSA if you have an auto).

he was right, even without labor, hes looking at around 1100-1300 altogether. The tuning is the big part of a cam install. Thats where its a pain in the butt.
