Correct position of the clutch pedal?

Correct position of the clutch pedal?
What is the correct (usual) position of the clutch pedal?
Mine is about 1" lower than the brake pedal. Is it correct?
This weekend I swapped my toated 4L60E with a nice T56
Everything went fine but the clutch is disingaging way too late and I can barely shift.
During the first 1/2 of the pedal movement I feel just a little pressure. After that it becomes harder. If I can select a gear the clutch will fully ingage after max. 1" from the bottom.
It's a new Spec stage 2 included their flywheel, pressure plate and TO bearing.
The hydraulic system is full of fluid, I'm sure of that. I also kept the pedal pressed to the floor during several inutes to see it it leaks internally but it's fine.
It has just a wrong engagement point.
PLS don't tell me to add an additional shim! I already have the metal 1/8" shim sent by Spec.
Before I take everything apart I was thinking that maybe the master cylinder was too far away from the firewall and that the pedal won't push all the necessary fluid to the slave cylinder.
Maybe the hole in the firewall is a little too low... just nough to make troubles!
Should I make the master cylinder adjustable?
Should prepare a new shim? How thick?
I hope someone has a good idea
Thank you - Stefano

The clutch pedal should be even or close to being even with the brake pedal. I would make the master adjustable and adjust it out until its even. This is what happend to my clutch pedal after I installed a new clutch and master, all I did was adjust the master out and everything turned out good. Give it a shot and see if that fixes the problem.

Thank you!
At what pedal position is now your clutch disingagin / ingaging?
Once I talked to Spec and they said that with their shim it will disingage right after you push on it...
For European cars it would be right after 1/3 of the pedal movement. For the F-body I really don't know: mine is manual only since yesterday!!!
