so far my times are...

1.59 60'
12.28
108 mph

mods are...

stock suspension, stock MAF, stock pulley, LS1 intake, still have the frt. SB
lid
headers/ORY MangaFlow catback
fuddle racing 4000 2.5

these times are in 78* heat, 50% humidity and about 600-700+ DA
I think I can get 11.99 in cooler weather

so if I go with a comp 224/228 cam, what kinda times you think I can pull ?

thanks

Get yourself an LS6 intake, pulley, and a ported TB. You will get your 11's without a problem. 11.5's shouldn't be an issue with the cam.

My girlfriends Z/28 went 11.49/118 with a comp 224/228 114 +2, with TEA 5.3 1.5's and a 90/90.

not really the way the car is running like a ass raped ape now, I believe with a pulley, a ported TB and some suspension (LCA's, RLB's, PHR for now) in good weather should net you some 11.7-8, which is really good for a full wieght metal hood trans am SI.
a cam that perfect matches the setup, i.e. has good power at 4000+ to provide a really good hit of the converter, and makes excelent power in your shift extension rpm's. in fact, after the 2-3, you will ride the extension thru the traps.
so, a perfect cam for that setup will net you 11.5-4 or so. (which remember is like top ten for a full wieght cam only auto)
may I remind you of someone we know that is only running a 12.0, and another that has a huge ass thumpy cam that is 11.5 with a cam MUCH larger. which means, the combo sucks. everything has to match.

I believe that the 224/228 sould match pretty good, should be over 350trq at 4K+ and good HP in the 5500+ range (shift ext.)
we made need to put in a little advance on the 113 to bring the peaks down a little bit.
just think, about 1200 bucks (maybe less) and a certine AntiVenom for the snakes, you just might make fools of some big cam only 6spds (HINT) and a big cam A4) (HINT)

yup i know what you mean seadoo....might have to tinker with the HPTuners alittle at the house and see what we can do. Also i know what your talking about with the BIG CAM and only going 12.0....gees that must suck. but some people think go big or go home, but im my case its going to be go smaller and show them whats up. All about finding the right combo.
Gator, that wouldnt be by chance the cam you have????????????

That cam will work, you'll be making the power you want, but I'd do the intake and pulley while you have it apart. Once you have it done, the suspension and weight will be holding you back.... and the 10 bolt won't be long for the world either.

no back in 2001 i threw in a "huge" cam back then. lol. its a comp XE grind (not XE-R) 230/230 .563 111 lsa cam. small lift. mild duration. it works. if i could do it all over again i would run a small TR 224 cam on a 114 lsa (or futral cam). both are cam motion cams. i love the fact its smooth, extremely daily driveable, and makes killer power everywhere.

224/228 is a good cam. formato likes it. tunes it well. idles well.

btw, +1 on the underdrive pulley and if the budget allows, the ls6 intake.

- 1 on the 10 bolt not taking it. lol. 10 second cars here are running stock 10 bolts.

10 bolt will be o.k. in an auto car.. try side stepping the clutch with slicks, in a stick car at 5500 or more... it won't like it much :bomb:

Gator, we have been recommended the 224/228 on a 113... would you think it should provide the trq at 4000+ for a good hit on the converter?

thanks bro, best advice as usual :secret2:

On a car with full boltons ( headers, pulley, lid, tb, all that stuff ) I'd think that it would be over 360. My car was over 385 at that rpm thru the stick, a heavy steel driveshaft and a 12 bolt

well im hoping that i will be able to pick up a few misc parts from here soon, for a good price, i know there is always someone sellign an intake and usually a pulley. thanks to everyone for your imput, im just trying to figure out what setup is the best way to go, b/c its all about having the right combo, if you go to big then its jus a waste and wel too small, no one ever goes too small. thanks again

yeah, someone will have a pulley up soon enough, then a ls6 intake, and a ported TB then the cam and then look all that powa than you found :)
