no oil pressure HELP new block
blew motor two weeks ago.broke piston and cracked sleve
so I saved the crank found a GM block Still in the crate .
Put new rods ,forged je pistons had everything balanced
I assembled the motor ,plastigaged everything, all checked out good. put slp oil pump with rollmaster double roller.Start motor no oil pressure. did some research found out about a plunger over the oil filter put that in still nothing.changed oil pump still nothing. filter is filling up with oil and oil pressure sending unit is getting oil, lifters are not tapping but no oil pressure changed the O ring on the pickup, nothing.PLEASE HELP anyone who has had any experience with this please talk.ive even changecx the sending unit still nothing
When i say nothing at idle it has about 10 psi and 15 when its just off idle
so I saved the crank found a GM block Still in the crate .

by plunger i mean it is a plug that goes in the back of the block over the oil filter it looks like it just sends oil to the filter and then back up. Ive pulled the oil pan 3 times and 2 different O rings and i get the same thing impulling my hair out my head

Could be a bad oil pressure sending unit.

The plastic barbell shaped plug goes in the back of the block, in the oil passage, above the filter. The rear cover holds it in. Also, there is a 5/8 freeze plug in the front of the block, same oil galley. I have had the same problem all year, put a .140 shim in the oil pump bypass spring to fix it. That worked until I went road racing for 15 minutes and the oil pressure dropped.
