I'm just starting and I thought the pic would be better but here it in you should see the oxydaysion(ya bad spelling) in the pic it doesn't look like it but the part nearest the car is almost pink

Ya it is big and you can't really see the defects so i too a few smaller ones of the hood this is the contrast of the two sides of the hood after one pass of PB Pro-Polish with a wool cutting pad

You've got it headed in the right direction now. Red cars always seem to show paint neglect quicker than other colors.
