Default Lifter stuck in block. HELP!

my mech was taking out my lifters because one was ticking. and he cant get the last one out. he says that he is going to have to pull the motor to get it out. honestly i dont think i have enough cash for this right now so this isnt good.

Are there any tricks that you guys know of to get a stuck lifter out without pulling the motor?

thanks in advance,
kyle

Does it move at all? Is the cam in or out? There is a lot of casting flash in the oil galley, if the cam is out look in there to see if there is a problem.
