how exactly does a blow off valve work?? I think I have the right idea I just need one of you guys to explain it

when the throttle blade closes the turbo is still compressing air and has no where to go, so it will stall the compressor or slow it down, stop it from spinning.
so to prevent this when the trottle blade closes all the compressed air is released to prevent a build up.
