Default hptuners cable problem

i've been using hptuners for a while now on my camaro, recently i had the battery die halfway through a flash, killing my computer... so i buy a new computer and install it. now the software won't connect to the car. ive tried unplugging the battery for a while, using a desktop with a serial port in case the serial to usb adaptor i have on the laptop is'nt working, and all sorts of unplugging/replugging and rebooting... still nothing. we concluded that it's not the computer, the battery is fully charged, the software works.... is there possibly something wrong with the obd2 port? or could it be the cable itself? ive had problems connecting to the car before, but this time it just seems like its not going to do it... any suggestion?

I've had to replace my serial cable that goes between the laptop and the HPT interface. they seem to get broken wires on the laptop end where they flex alot. I can PM you where to order a replacement really cheap, but you are probably in a hurry to get one so you might try a local computer store. I ordered several so I always have a spare ready to go.

so maybe take the **** to a small computer store, hand it over, and say "please fix this!" good idea!

so its the actual cable that you broke? i'll definatly have to check that out tomarrow.... i have a few computer/engineer buddies who can probably fix anything that may be wrong with it.. the thing is though, that it was working earlier in the day... unless i broke it halfway through somehow..

Check the cigarette lighter fuse. The ALDL port shares the same power circuit at the lighter.
