Default Does your Futral Cam clatter like a sewing machine?

I know most of the aggressive ramp cams clatter but there are some that are perfectly quiet also. With the Futral ramps being slightly less aggressive than the X-ER's out there, I'm curious what percentage of the Futrals are quiet. Especially interested in the F10,F11 and F13.

My f13 sounds like a sewing machine and a blower at the same time. It makes a whistleing sound at idle.

I have F10 - it's quiet, and doesn't lope too crazy.

I have a CompCam on XER lobes that has almost the exact specs of the F13 and a buddy of mine has an actual F14. We have tried to compare valve train noise before, but we both agreed that it is all pretty much the same at that range of cam size...

Mine sounds a little like a sewing machine, but that has only happened just recently. Have about 10k on my cam/springs.

My F13 had a really noticeable sewing machine sound. It also sounded like a blower. It would whistle.

OK We have 4 sewing machines, 2 that are quiet and 1 *******?? so far. I thought I may find a trend that people with milled heads had clatter because of valve train geometry but looking at the sigs so far, I don't see any trends at all. Are all of you (clatter and non clatter) using 7.40 pushrods?

Adjustable rockers will quiet things down, because you can dial in the lifter preload.
On non adjustables try to run 7.425 p-rods, it will quiet things down a bit. (Did with mine, XE-R .581 lifts)

On a second thought mine has a whistle, but only when floor it. Maybe I have an exhaust leak ??? Also, I have yella-terra rockers with stock lenght pushrods

So, using .025 longer pushrods helps. Does that mean the base circle of the Futral cams is .050 smaller?

So far it looks like we're at 8 sewing machines, 3 quiet, 3 blowers and 1 tittie lol

my f10 didnt sound so bad, then again, the duals do a great job drowning out the little noises Lets see how the f13 112 sounds this weekend (installing it)
