Default Texans: How much is your Mortgage & house?

Pro Stock John started this up in the racers lounge, and I thought it'd be good to hear from strictly Texans. How much a month including taxes & insurance do you pay, how much was the total cost of your house & how many sq ft?

1200/mo / 125k / 2000sqft here.

I'd love to hear what you 200-500k guys are paying monthly and such!

If you don't put anything down, estimate 1%. So a 200k house is 2k a month.

I did an FHA loan cause I had no money up front (3% down plus closing costs on an house we built---so we got screwed on taxes ). Financed 141, paid 1260 for a year+, now 1330 since taxes went up (~6%, 30-year fixed). But we put a little towards principal only every year. Next house will be financed much better.

If you did a nice 80/15/5 with 20% down and got in a while back under 5 or 6% you'd pay WAY less for the same house. But 20% of a 150k is 30g's.

My 145ish got me 1900sqft, a 60x120 lot in Allen, TX. Pretty good. Appraisals are now above 155 for my house. It was built in 2003.

I kinda want to move south so I can get a couple hunder more sqft for the same price on an acre or more.

If I stop buying toys, maybe I would buy a house. Its a sickness I cant help it. Well I split $1107 on an apartment plus bills. I guess a house payment aint to far off, since I spend my money on a bunch of stupidities.

47k (in 1990) on 2.75 acres. 1800 sqft.
Bought as a fixer upper.
Payments were 550/mo. Now paid off.
Need to drop about 25k into it to finish it off.

$101,550 / 1300 sq ft / $969.80 per month

It's our starter home. We've already done lots of stuff to it to improve it. The guy across the street from us sold his house for $120K about 6 months ago, so we're liking the prospects when we move in a few years.

WS6snake-eater - I sent you a PM months ago, but you never responded. You don't write, you don't call...the kids are asking about you!
