Default Come in and help me pick out a Cam......

I have Port and polished LS1 heads from way back in the day. Anyway, they have 2.02 intake and 1.575 exaust. The heads have been milled to create 63.5cc for a SCR of somewhere around 10.7-10.8:1. I have factory rockers and pushrods and I'm currently running a Comp Cams 228/228 with .571 lift on both the intake and exaust with 112 lobe sep. This cam sounds nice but I want a bigger/better cam! What would be a good cam for me to run. I want good power and a nice lopey Idle. I have heard the TSP 231/237 and it sounded awesome. I don't know what size cam I could run without it causing my valves to hit my pistons.........that's why I NEED your help!

Thanks

im an LT1 guy, recently bought a LS1. but i think anything below a .600 lift with less than 240 duration will not hit the piston. but most likely im wrong or close to the answer.

I think since the heads have been milled to get 63.5cc, the cam needs to be smaller and or new rockers/pushrods........I'm not sure, but someone knows. Hopefully they'll post up.

Why even guess... Measure the P to V or at least clay them (crude but I have done it)....

I am almost positive with that TSP cam will require you to fly-cut your pistons. Call Trevor at TSP for all the info. If you are going from 66.67cc (factory) to 63.5 you are loosing approximately .018 off the heads. The intake lift on that cam is .595, things are going to be snug, but TSP can give you the true details...

I wanted to run the 231/237 cam with my TEA stage two 5.3 liter heads that were milled .010. They had 2.02 intake and 1.575 exhuast valves. They said it would be close but would be ok.
