LS6 pistons are cast from high-strength M142 aluminum alloy and reshaped with a slightly different profile than those in the LS1. In side view, the LS6 pistons have a slight barrel shape, almost imperceptible to the naked eye. The new alloy increases engine durability at racetrack operating levels, while the shape reduces internal mechanical noise.

Sounds like someone has no f-ing clue what they're selling. ZO6 pistons...LOL. No, they're not forged.....they're hypereutectic.....same pistons as every LS1, LS6 had AFAIK. Depending on the year they came out of, they may have coated skirts versus the standard piston that came in the earlier years.

There is a difference in the material of the pistons used in the ls1 and ls6.
the original ls1 piston was made by Mahle using an aluminium silicon alloy called M124.
LS6 pistons are made with M142, which has a higher contenent of cooper and nickel than M124; M142 is stronger and exibits reduced expansion at higher temps than M124.
this helped the Gen III team use tighter bore clearances to minimize oil consumption and piston noise while maximizing durability.

this info was copied from this book, which is amazing, I really recomend to buy and read CONSTANTLY.
this is my Nth time and still find ned and usefull info.....
