Default Tuning F13-112 + afr 205s

Hi guys from across the pond

Just received FM13-112 + AFR 205 heads. Money is a bit tight temporarily.

My question is : Is it worth waiting before installing heads + cam til i can afford free flowing exhaust headers ? If i install now and get a good tune will installing headers later require another tune for optimal performance ?

Cheers guys
Rob

The F13 has a little too much overlap to work well with stock manifolds. If you can afford to, you run the AFR heads with the stock cam. This way, you can still run the stock tune and not be out the $500. You will pick up at least 30 rwhp and get better fuel economy and better street manners. If you install the heads and cam, you'll need a very comprehensive tune to run well with stock exhaust, and even at that, you be lucky to gain 10 additional rwhp. Your low speed street manners will be crap.

Headers make a pretty significant difference once you exceed 0 degrees of overlap at .050" lift.

I would wait until you get the headers and do it all at once.

Im running stock manifolds with a f13 right now with full bolt ons. I have a "custom" off road y pipe for the stock manifolds and i did 12.8 @ 114 with 342s and stock 10 bolt. The car drives pretty damn good in my opinion. Id like to get heads soon after the 12 bolt. Let me know how your set up turns out.
