Default aplines sps-170a dont fit?

i just bought 4 of these and the hole in the back is too big. how did you guys mount these? is it the same problem for the fronts?

aren't speakers in the rear 6x9 on hardtops and t-tops ????

no.

i found adaptor plates at best buy. you bolt the 6.5" speakers to them, then bolt that to the car. im gonna call crutchfield and see if those are coming with my deck order. if not, off to best buy i go

The front speakers should be fine, as it has a plastic plate they screw to.

They fit perfectly in the doors. I haven't taken my sail speakers apart yet. Waiting for my Image Dynamics CX62's for there.

They should have included adapter plates in the box. Did you try those?

I have a vert and they fit just fine.

yea the adaptor plates that came with the speakers do not fit.

Hmmm... so you can fit these speakers into the front doors but not the rear seats?

I'm ordering these speakers later today so please let me know how you resolve that... thanks

well im getting the adaptor plates from best buy today, for the rear. im gonna take the door panel off before i go to see if i need them for the front too. if i had ordered these speakers from crutchfield it would of came with them. but they wanted $99 for a pair. i got 2 pairs shipped to my door for $124!

thats more or less the same price i can get from ikesound.com

fronts fit perfect. no adaptors needed. backs will need the adaptors. 19.99 for a pair from best buy. 14.99 i think from crutchfield.

got my speakers from techronics.com

Hmmm. My 170's were only $70. I'll look and see if I have adaptor plates. I didn't need them for the door install. Can't remember what all was in the box that I ddin't use. lol

I agree.
The fronts fit good but the rears will need the ring adapter.

I did my sail panels with no adapters. Seem to fit fine...
