Default How important is a tune after cam and header install?

I was wondering how important it is. I was going to install a trex cam and a set of headers with tsp true dual setup. I was wondering after this was done how soon should I get a tune.. I really don't care much about drivablity but I care more about hurting the motor. THnaks.

SEARCH!

You will NEED a proper, hands on dyno tune by somebody experienced.

Very important. You will not get 1/2 the power gains without a proper tune.

You definitely need a tune with a cam. My Z06 was running very rich after just a header install and a cam would make it even more off. The tune for my car gave me 12 rwhp.

If you do indeed get a T-rex you will need a tune just to drive the thing.

He's right, you NEED a Dyno tune, otherwise you will not enjoy that cam at all.

I cant imagine driving a T Rex cam untuned. You'd probably break your rear end just from the car jolting so hard under 1500 rpms

thanks guys thats what i expected. I was just asking cause i'll be doing the install at home and i don't have a trailer to trailer it to a dyno place which would be probably well over two hours away. Thanks for the response
