Removed side molding...passanger side glue is stubborn :(
Hey guys I removed my side moldings on my TA. Looks great. The only issue I have now is how to get the remaining glue off? The drivers side seems like it will be easy. Only leaving the slight white line on the top and bottom where the molding was. NOW The passanger side? The glue seems to be more stubborn. . I just bought Goo Gone. I a going to try it out but how do I apply it? or rub it off? Can I let it soak in on the passangers side? or isn't that good for the paint? I will clay bar when I am done but t his is way too much to take off that way. BTW BOTH thumbs are throbing from rubbing Any help would be great.

Just rub it on with a Microfiber or cotton cloth. If the goo gone doesn't work hit it with some WD-40. It won't hurt the clear coat. If that doesn't work you'll have to go to an autoparts store that sells autobody supplies and pick up some profesional paint cleaner, 3M makes some good stuff that will cut through anything.

Goo Gone on a rag and rub. It really depends on how old the glue is and what type it is on how easy it will come off. Goo Gone will take dang near anything off but it dulls the clear as it strips the wax and anything else off with it. Make sure you clean and wax the area when done. WD 40 works well and just leaves some smear marks that will wash right off. Ususally for stubborn glue WD 40 doesn't work that great.

get an eraser wheel....it attaches to a drill and literally erases the glue from the surface....just go slow and be careful and it wont hurt the paint...you can then go ahead and use a liquid surface cleaner, something by 3m as someone already said....

Use your thumb...its going to be sore as hell though after you are done. But it works. Also some thin fishing line will work wonders...along with a clay bar for whats left over.
Jk
