w/ or w/o back seats?
You guys are killing me :rotflmao: - not - don't give up your day job you comedians :flipbird: - trolls.
OK, so no cares at this point apparently, lets just gut the cars and see how fast they can go, got it.

now you're getting it. the lighter the car, the faster it goes, the faster it stops, and the better it handles. also better gas mileage. a lot of weight can be taken out of the car for free, so i say why not?
no backseats, no carpet, no bumper supports, no spare tire/jack, stuff like that.

and to your question - i don't think there is or ever will be an official record for something so.... well... irrelevant.
no backseats, no carpet, no bumper supports, no spare tire/jack, stuff like that.
no kids, louder car, hmmm - safety concerns ?, already have the spare/jack out.
I was just curious, I know there is no "official" record.
Race cars have their rules, which invariably mean everything gets pulled out of the car that doesn't make it go faster.
However, my car is a street car, and since GM built it with the lightest crap possible, it seems like everything I do to it makes it heavier. I'm having to take crap out just to maintain factory weight. Improvements adding lbs:
13" front brakes, bigger sway bars, HD driveshaft, HD rearend, wider tires and wheels, subframe connectors, HD torque arm. :eyes:
I want it to go faster too, but without being a nice car to cruise around it when I'm not at the track :burn:

well..... my car was a full weight 6spd with a few bolt ons - i went 12.5's @ 112 w/ a 1.8x 60' i'm sure if i had a better tire and suspension, the car would have gone 12.3/12.2 as it was. then i could have added elec water pump, underdrive pulley, ls-6 intake manifold, and a dyno tune. possibly seen 11's in a full weight 6spd car. i had a 12 bolt and torque arm too. so it was above factory weight i guess.

Stock 02 LS1 long block. Valve covers never removed, 14k original miles. No boost of any kind. Most bolt ons. very good track conditions and cold air 12.074 @ 114. MT 17" dr, 4.10, LCA, PHB, LT's-cut out, pulley, 3-button clutch. Spare tire and jack only weight removed. I to am just a little curious about full weight times.

I went 12.4xs @ 113mph with 1.9x sixty foot times with the stock 10 bolt and 3.42s. Car was full-weight except for back seats, spare tire and jack with the mods in sig. except for the 9". Now I have a 9", adj. torque arm, LCAs, and can't go to the track because it is still messed up from the hurricane...
Ok, now that's what I am talking about. Good to hear from some guys who haven't turned their car into complete race cars. :hail:

Great time ! You must have exercised a lot of self restraint. I'm not sure I could have left the track without an 11.99 that day :D

It was last night of brackets in memphis for the season, a few of the f-body members went to get a couple of passes in. I made it to the finals and gave it away with a -.016 light. as soon as I saw the red i got pissed at myself and drove with a bit more aggression than normal. My dial in was 12.31. It was very late and track closed. I would have loved to gotten another try.

Everyone has their own definition of a race car. mine is 100% street car. If it was a race car it would be quite a bit faster.

With all due and appropriate respect for your very fast car :hail: , for most of us that is completely hilarious. :jest:
I don't have time to find the post where you list all the weight reduction items you have done, but at 2960 lbs race weight, you have to have taken out most if not all of the passenger comfort and safety features of the car. Just guessing here but I would bet no passenger seat, no passenger air bag, no abs, no AC, no heater, no rear seats, no carpet, no radio, no passenger seat belts, no bumpers, no door panels, etc. - Tell me I'm wrong, because if I am then you have a great method for dropping weight and we all want to know it.
Just because you drive it on the street, doesn't make it a street car to most of us. Your car is very fast for a bolt on car :hail:
I can take my wife for a ride in my car, and my kids, with the AC on, listening to the radio, and god forbid if we got into an accident everyone would have their seatbelts on.
It's all good man, but I as well as others are interested it what has been achieved with cars that would appear stock even to those practiced in the art of deception ;)

Actually i still have all interior panels, all floor mats, fully carpeted, two seats (firmly bolted to the floor and crossar) w/ five point harness each. I tried to keep my car as good/normal looking inside and out as possible. i don' wanna feel like i'm driving around in a tin can.
Having rear seats would be irresponsible in a car with any kind of roll bar/cage with a crossbar.
But i know what you mean about trying to go fast with all the creature comforts. the only problem is you can still take weight off and kep those comforts.
To me "full weight" is when you have pulled absolutely nothing out for weight savings. No matter if you have added weight due to different mods.
But to each his own.:drive:

lack of creature comforts and safety equipment don't make a car a race car. my uncle drives a jolopy truck with no power steering, no a/c, no air bags, no power steering, no radio. Do you guys consider that a race car? :jest:

Wow, then can you point me to your weight reduction thread, cuz I would really like to know how to lose 500 lbs without taking out all the safety and interior stuff :D

Well I am full weight. See sig. TRex: we can start a new list.
BADSZ28, that is a smoking time ! And that is through the manifolds (I see you only have a cutout for exhaust) ? What gears and rear ? Excellent #'s :hail:

That was on a 4.10 gear with LCAs and LCA brackets, free mods, cut-out, bellows, lid/filter, Vara Ram V. Stack, Torque Arm, Skinnies, MT ET DRs, Pro 5.0, Pulley, HP tuned by myself on street, Drill mod, mighty vac bleed, SFCs, shift light, line lock, shifting at 6200. I think I may have pulled an 11 if I shifted at 6400 and got a little better 60 since I only got a 1.69 on that run and did a 1.65 on another and power shifted into 2nd. The clutch would slip if I powered into 4th. All else is stock. I have to get a 9" since I blew the planetary gears in the Torsen that day.
Dude, I think you have the record for through the manifolds, that is a crazy time ! Good driving !

No, I know of two other guys who went 11.9. But I do not think they were full weight and they both had to be -DA. I know I can do it if I shift at 6400 in near 0 DA.
