Default No 2nd, 1st pops out, 4th grinds - HELP!

The tranny apparently wasn't in very good shape when I bought it.

Now I can go into 2nd, but it just spins without catching. If I am coasting in neutral and shift into 4th it will grind. It doesn't matter if I have my foot pounding the clutch all of the way in or not, it will grind. Sometimes it will not go into 1st when I am stopped at a light, and other times it will pop out when I hit the gas.

I think I have the record for most messed up T56. Help...please....

We can get your tranny rebuilt for you to survive a ton of horsepower. $1,450.00 to have it fully rebuilt with high performance pieces replacing all the weak factory ones. We charge $350.00 to remove and replace the tranny, should you need someone else to R&R it. Bob

Yeah it definitely needs rebuilt.

I was just curious if someone could tell me exactly what they think is causing each problem.

There are round hollow slider pins in there that get bent, which should be replaced with solid ones, and your synchros are more than likely shot. Bob
