Default Need advice on buying this car

My brother is looking at this car and I was wanting to know if I could get some opinions on whether or not to buy it. It is a 1999 Hugger Orange with black stripes, do not know if dealer put these on or factory. Was like this when bought new. Paint code is 99U which just means hugger orange. It is bone stock with 120k miles, 1 owner, 50 yr old lady, selling for a new car. GU5 3.23 gears. Car is flawless inside and out. Interior looks and feels brand new, dark grey leather. How much do you think this is worth, and is this a rare combination with the stripes or just a dealership thing. Also no rust or oil leaks. Never been scratched or dented. It drove like a champ w/o any noises or problems. It is listed at $8k obo. Thanks

Sounds like a solid car, but I still wouldn't pay anything over 5 for a 120k mile car. Regardless of how well taken care of things will start to go wrong after awhile, and those small repairs will add up. For 8 grand I was able to find a nice SS with 60k miles. Granted it was a better than average deal and it's not exactly to my liking... but you should find a better deal than this if you keep shopping.

Best of luck with your bro's car shopping.

Sounds like a good car but 8k is a little high for 120k. Also was it really owned by one 50yr old lady? Sounds like an auto with the gears. I think that was the only year for that color as well, theres a sticky somewhere. I doubt you'll get it for 5k but I wouldnt pay 8k either. Why isn't she trading it in? What did they offer her? $7475 is the trade in I found for it if its an SS and $9235 as kelley blue book for a private sale. You make the call.

Is it a SS or Z? I'd say 8k is fair for an ss, to high for a z though
