If I had them instock (I dont) I would sell them at my old price to you which was $159 - were we in for a surpise last week. The current price is $277 due to the increase in cost for titanium.

$277.00 for 918 titanium retainers??

Are the patriots going to go up in cost as well after supply runs out?

Think about how I felt when I called Comp! Normally we'll see a small % increase every year - but there is something going on with titanium. I am guessing that something is causing a high demand which is driving the cost way up.

Patriot has not said anything about it yet.

Thats crazy, no word on what's driving up the price?

Guess i better get off my patoot, call you guys up and buy a set of patriots for cheap insurance in the future.

Do the patriots on sale include the seals, keepers and spring cups?

No idea - Gunnar has said his retainer costs have gone up but not enough to warrant a price increase.

I have a question about one of your camshafts.
I need a cam for a LS2 402.
It's 11.2:1 compression, FAST 90/90 intake setup, TSP race style LS6 heads w/ patriot golds, Kooks 1 7/8" headers, A4 tranny w/TCI 3800 stall TC, Strange 12 bolt w/3.73 gears.
The cam I've been eyeballing is your SS3, 242/250 .611"/.619" 114. With a good tune, what kind of numbers would you expect the car to put down, both on the track and the dyno. The car's raceweight is 3500 lbs on race tires. Where would you expect that cam to peak in horsepower, so I have an idea how high I'd have to rev it. The car is drifting more towards a weekend racer and car cruiser than a daily driver so a choppy idle won't bother me.

Thanks

Thats the same cam that made 550RWHP (open exhaust) on Tom's 427 Z06. We really like the cam for larger motors. It also looks like you have a good setup with the intake and larger headers. As far as the exact results I'd say it really depends on those heads.

I just looked up a dynorun from that corvette - 527 RWHP thru the factory catback. It peaks at 6,000RPM but still made over 500RWHP up to 7,000RPM.

Great, that sounds pretty close to what I'm looking for. If I wanted a shift point around 6300 rpms, could I retard this cam 2-4 degrees and be there? I understand part of it will depend on the heads. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that someone's buying them next week, so I can pick up some ET 240's. But I think I'll call one day this coming week and get the cam ordered.

By the way, what does Speed Inc charge for an open loop dyno tune? Does it cost more than a normal dyno tune due to the time needed to dial in the VE tables? This is a '98 Trans Am, and I've already hit the limit on my MAF tables with stock displacement...

You'll have to ask Larry (866-LS1-SPEED x 114 or larry@ls1speed.com)... We normally do not charge more for open loop tuning.
