4L80e Identification Quiz... Pics Included Alright boys and girls.. I have a question about the black box on the side of my 4L80e transmission.
What is its function ?
I am putting this transmission (after being BUILT UP) into my Typhoon and I want to know if I can ditch this box. I dont ~~think~~ I will need it but I want to run the stock LS1 PCM and need to know if its needed or not.

It will not affcet the function of your transmission.It is for the digital indicators on the late model trucks the neutral safety functions and back-up lights.Hope this helps.
