i have open headers with a bullet on it end. and i chose sound, it sounds badass when you fly by the loser who bought the better sounding exhaust.

Well theres two ways to do it ... choose a few good flowing catbacks and pick the best sounding one. Or pick a few of your favorite sounding ones and get the best flowing one.

Catbacks are mostly for sound ... power is a good benefit, but as long as your not throwing a flow master on there... they'll all make roughly the same gains w/ the excepting of the few VERY good flowing ones (magnaflow)

I look for performance over all. I'd be happy if the car was silent as long as it was a performer, but I'm an old bastid FWIW.

it all depends on what you want to do with the car. some cat backs are great by themselves, but sound like **** with H/C, or longtubes. I went with the hooker cat back as I know where I want to be with my car. do some reaearch as I think it was one of the most important decisions on the ls1. all catbacks for our cars if set up right will sound very good except flowmaster, flowmaster just plain sucks.

if you want something quiet get the hooker, magnaflow etc.
if you want someting loud get true duals, borla, corsa etc.

Power then sound.

Same with exterior mods for me too... Power before looks.

I can't justify buying $2,000 wheels and tires, when that can get us some good heads...

Nothing beats the sound of duals...or the power...

But no cat-back is ever going to make serious power so choose the one that sounds best.

Cat-backs all make about the same power, minus Flowmaster. So this is where sound comes into play. SLP LM, Borla, Corsa, GMMG, TSP Rumbler, etc. all being loud and Magnaflow, Hooker, B&B, etc. being some-what quiet.

Definitely sound. Any catback other than flowmaster is gonna make comparable power. Sound is such a fun and important part of a muscle car and any difference in power from one catback to the other is pretty much negligible.

Actually all you guys are WRONG, nothing beats the sound of an inline four.

Just kidding, Im wanting to get true duals now, before this poll. What is the difference in power with catback and duals?

Well, true duals sound like your about to get raped.

Correct me anyone if Im wrong, but catbacks make more power as oppossed to the true duals which have better, KILLER sound.

Duals make more power, but not much. The more mods you compliment duals with, the more power you are going to make because from each header, it has it's own pipe straight back, instead of a y-pipe into one pipe straight back.

I voted HP...but early on it was a tone quest. When it was just a Cat Back. Now it's HP...for instance when the cam went in we got a lot of crispy loud too...FM13, Long Tubes, No Cats and a Spintech at WOT...just damn!!

I know...sound or tone depends on what else you have too.
